This fine art project began as an open ended exploration of light, shape, and negative space, with no predetermined outcome. The environment of Joshua Tree offered a quiet intensity that encouraged observation rather than direction, allowing the work to develop slowly and intuitively.
The images move away from documentation and toward abstraction, using subtle shifts in texture and shadow to create tension and balance within each frame. Mood and restraint guide the work, inviting interpretation rather than explanation. Each image asks the viewer to slow down and engage on a more intuitive level.
The process itself played a significant role in shaping the final series. Time, repetition, and patience allowed patterns to emerge naturally, refining the visual language with each pass. The resulting body of work reflects a meditative approach to image making, where meaning is discovered gradually rather than imposed.
